Carkettill, William, A.M., a Scotch, clergyman, took his degree at Edinburgh University in 1603. He was licensed to preach in 1605, although the Presbytery considered him too young and inexperienced; but he was admitted to the living at Stenton in 1606, and continued in 1608. There is no further record of him. See Fasti Eccles. Scoticanae, 1, 383.
